AGRA: Three traffic police men in Firozabad were suspended on charges of snatching Rs 800 from a truck driver on Sunday.

When he lodged a complaint, they also pressurized him to give in writing that he had not given them money. When senior officials came to know this, the three traffic policemen were suspended. Ram Babu, a truck driver from Banjara village under Bara Kota police station of Rajasthan had reached Firozabad on Sunday morning. Three traffic cops Manoj Gautam, Jitendra Kumar (HCP) and Balbir Singh were deputed at Asafabad crossing where they stopped the truck and pressurised the truck driver to pay the money for going ahead.

The truck driver refused to pay but the three policemen snatched R 800 from his pocket and told him to go but he reached the Rasoolpur police station and gave a written complaint to station incharge Vinod Payal who assured probe and told the truck driver to go.

These three policemen got information of the complaint and restrained the trucker from going further because he refused to give in writing that no money was realised from him.

As the truck driver stood his ground, the matter came to the knowledge of senior police officials. “The three traffic policemen have been suspended for realising money from Rajasthan truck driver and SSP Firozabad has been informed. Similar action will be taken if any such complaint is received in future,” said the SP Firozabad.
