KGMU VC merges two departments

Prof MLB Bhatt, the vice chancellor of King George’s Medical University, revoked another decision by former VC Prof Ravikant and on Monday decided to merge the medical physics department with the radio therapy department.

According to the medical university officials, the decision will make the work of giving therapy to patients and training to medical students easy. Prof Ravikant had separated medical physics during his tenure. The medical physics department decides the dose of radiation and with the department working independently, patients had trouble in getting the work done. The V-C also took a round of the trauma centre with the officials. He directed the Shatabdi Phase II and Trauma Centre be connected by making space in the wall separating the two complexes.
