1 held for assault on men transporting buffaloes in Delhi

Delhi police arrested 32-year-old Shashank Sharma, a resident of Rohini, on Monday in connection with the alleged assault of three people transporting buffaloes in Kalkaji on Saturday.

Sharma claimed to be a member of the People For Animals (PFA), an NGO founded and chaired by Union minister Maneka Gandhi. Following the incident, two FIRs were filed — one against the three men for inhumane transportation of cattle and another against those who assaulted them.The men had legal papers for transport. The PFA had denied any association with the incident.
