2 PASSENGERS COLLAPSE, DIE AFTER ARRIVAL AT LUCKNOW AIRPORT

Two passengers, who came in different flights at different times, collapsed and later died after arrival at Lucknow Airport on Thursday.

They were declared ‘brought dead’ when taken to Lok Bandhu Hospital here.

According to officials of Airport Authority of India, the Oman Air sought medical help in terminal –I arrival hall at 7 am, as a passenger Mohammad Sufiyan, 45, who came from Muscat by flight WY 261 of Oman Air fell unconsciou­s at the immigratio­n counter at 7 am.

The doctor at the airport rushed to see the passenger who was unconsciou­s. He was immediatel­y rushed to Lokbandhu hospital in an ambulance but was declared dead by the doctors . It is believed that the passenger suffered a cardiac arrest after landing or in mid air .

In the evening at 5 pm, a passenger Kailashi, wife of Ishak Indian, (passport no P7494190) also fell unconsciou­s in arrival hall of customs in terminal one. She was travelling from Jeddah to Lucknow by flight no SV890 of Saudia Airlines

She was also rushed to Lokbandhu Hospital where she was announced dead.

The relatives of the passenger alleged that she was not provided ambulance on time so she had to be taken to the hospital in a private car.

However, the AAI officials said that the doctors on duty attended both the cases promptly and best possible medical support was given to the passengers.

The AAI officials denied the allegation­s of not providing ambulance to the patient. They said that they offered ambulance service but the relatives took her to the hospital in a private car.
