LUCKNOW: The ongoing probe against special judge (Posco) Om Prakash Mishra was completed on Sunday.

Mishra was suspended late on April 28 for giving bail to former minister Gayatri Prajapati in a rape case. Justice Sudhir Agarwal of the Allahabad high court conducted the probe. He is likely to submit his report to the high court administration on Monday. Mishra retired on Sunday.

Mishra had granted bail to Prajapati in a gang rape case on April 25 against which the Uttar Pradesh government moved Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court on April 28.

Chief justice of the Allahabad high court Dilip Babasaheb Bhosale heard the state government’s plea and stayed the bail given to Prajapati.

The chief justice also observed that the bail order was a decision taken in haste and it was a matter of concern for him as the judge, who issued the bail order, was to retire on April 30.

Gayatri Prajapati was not released from prison on April 25 as cops had sought his judicial remand in two other cases, which was allowed by the court. But his two associates Vikas Varma and Pintu Singh were released on bail.

The chief justice also directed the cops to take the two into custody again. Passing the judgment, the chief justice observed that it was after the intervention of the Supreme Court that an FIR was registered against Prajapati and was thereafter arrested.
