Steps being taken by schools to address the issue

LUCKNOW: Various institutio­ns in the state capital are aware of the problem and taking measures to protect their students and reduce the incidence of child sexual abuse.

DIALOGUE WITH STUDENTS

Study Hall holds dialogue with students every week in which all types of issues ranging from abuse to domestic violence, boy–girl relationsh­ips, empowermen­t etc are discussed. Certain issued are discussed separating boys and girls

MEETINGS

Meetings of parents are also organised to make them aware about child related issues and also to guide them how to deal with such situations.

COUNSELLIN­G

Seth MR Jaipuria conducts sessions with children under the guidance of school counsellor.

The counsellor makes children do some exercises and gradually talks about good and bad touch, sexuality, gender issues etc.

SPECIAL SESSIONS

La Martiniere College organises special sessions wherein hostellers are allowed to ask questions from doctors. The purpose is to give them answers for all their curiositie­s regarding sexuality. Sessions with day scholars are also held.

REGULAR SURVEYS

Modern School has a concept of regular surveys in every classroom.

The children are asked to mention their problems regarding any personal problem or even those related to school, studies etc.

The children are asked not to mention their names and thus they open up and write all sorts of problems.
