Paper leak row: NEET candidates demand CBI probe

-

Several candidates who took the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET)-2017 staged a protest at the GPO here on Monday demanding a fair probe into the paper leak allegations.

Afroz, a candidate, alleged that Patna police had arrested many people and they accepted that they had the question paper which they had circulated on WhatsApp. “There is evidence on paper leak and now CBI should conduct a probe into the matter. The offenders should be arrested and punished,” he said.

The candidates also accused the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) that conducts the NEET of failure and said there were several anomalies in the question paper’s translated version in regional language. “A paper of such a repute was taken lightly by the CBSE. It should also be included in the probe by the CBI,” said another candidate. They said the CBSE had selected institutions with poor repute for making the NEET centre and hence the sanctity of the paper was tampered. NEET was conducted on May 7.

AIIMS CANDIDATES DENIED ADMIT CARDS

Several candidates taking the AIIMS, New Delhi, MBBS entrance exam have been denied admit card owing to the poor thumb impression.

“I got notification about poor impression and I gave it again, but the latest communique says my form is rejected,” said Shakshi Sonam, a candidate.

Devanshi, another candidate said, “My thumb impression and photo are a blur and on that basis my form was rejected .”

Many candidates said that they had filled up the AIIMS application form and completed every formality, but their forms were rejected merely because of blurred thumb impression. During the correction period between April 19-21 many candidates didn’t even got message of the blurred thumb impression. The candidates also claimed that they had contacted the AIIMS helplines, assistant controller of examinations repeatedly, but they neglected their request.
