SSC paper leak: Case registered in Kanpur

-

The Govind Nagar police on Monday registered an FIR against unidentified persons in connection with the alleged leak of a question paper of Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) examination conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) on Sunday.

The FIR was lodged on a complaint by the principal of Khalsa Inter College Hemraj Gaur at the information provided by deputy director of the SSC Hemant Kumar that the paper was leaked from room number six of the college which was a centre for the examination.

Hemant Kumar also rushed to the college and apprised the principal that he got a WhatsApp message with the photocopy of question paper number QR-4460.

However, Gaur after examining the records said the centre did not receive the question paper of “QR” series but that of JR-4460 series and hence there was no possibility of leak from Khalsa College.

ACM, KP Tomar said it was not clear whether the question paper was that of an absent candidate yet an FIR has been lodged and a probe initiated. Officials and police feel that the question paper was kept over the seat of the absent candidate and some mischievous staff member photographed it and posted it on WhatsApp.

Meanwhile, the police nabbed two persons, including Lokendra Singh R/O Rafipur village, Eta and his brother-in-law Pushpendra R/O Girora village Eta from an examination centre Baptist Higher Secondary School near Sai Ka Takiya at MG Road in Agra. The arrested duo said the mastermind was at Moradabad and one Mukesh of Hathras was his agent. Police found that Mukesh had formed a WhatsApp group in the name of “SSC-MTS” which has ten members.
