A 21-year-old youth arrested and jailed twice for sexual harassment was allegedly killed by the girl’s father and brother in Bhopal after he got bail for the second time and threatened the girl and her family with dire consequences if they pursued the case.

Deceased Rahul Kori, a resident of Ayodhya Nagar, worked with a private firm in Ashoka Garden in Bhopal and was reported missing since Saturday. His mother lodged a complaint with the Ayodhya Nagar police station when he did not return home till late on Saturday night, police said.

During their probe, police came to know that Rahul had been harassing a girl in a slum in Ashoka Garden near the firm where he was employed. He was arrested in December 2016 for the first time for sexually harassing the girl.

He came out on bail in March this year and started troubling her again. The girl’s mother confronted him but Rahul allegedly beat her up. The mother lodged another complaint against him. He was arrested again and jailed in April this year. He came out on bail on April 24.

A police complaint was lodged against him for the third time when he not only harassed the girl but also her minor sister.

In an effort to trace Rahul, police picked up the girl’s father and brother for questioning. When grilled, both of them confessed to have killed Rahul.

The mother and both the girls were also booked, said police.

The family told the police that Rahul was threatening them with dire consequences so they decided to kill him. On Saturday, the father and brother abducted Rahul and beat him. When he died, they tied him up and threw him into a quarry.
