Bowlers help MAC enter semi-finals

LUCKNOW Fine bowling by Anuj Kumar (4/29), Abhishek Singh (2/24) and Shashwat Yadav (2/40) helped Multi Activity Academy (MAC) score a thrilling 10-run win against NDBG Club to make it to the semi-finals of the Prime Sports Trophy Cricket Tournament, at the Multi Activity ground here on Thursday. Defending 194 in 30 overs, the bowling trio bowled a tight line and managed to get the rivals out for 184 in 27.2 overs. Dherya Kapoor struck highest 54, followed by Shubranshu (45) and Udit Singh (38) but failed to help the side win. Rishi Vardhan Singh struck highest 58 for the winners.

FINE BOWLING

Arpit Kesarwani (4/13) and Nabi (3/17) guided DCA Unnao beat DCA Hardoi by 45 runs in a league match of the Zonal Under-19 Cricket Tournament, at the Northern Railway Stadium here on Thursday.

Abhijeet Sinha Cricket Academy (ASCA) defeated Asha Sports Foundation (ASF) by 10 wickets in a league match of the Lucknow Trophy Cricket Tournament, at the Chowk Stadium here on Thursday.

As many as 28 swimmers/divers would be representi­ng hosts Lucknow in the State Sub-Junior Aquatics meet, scheduled to be held here from May 20 to 22, at the KD Singh ‘Babu’ Stadium. UP Basketball Associatio­n on Thursday announced its teams for the 68th Junior National Championsh­ip, scheduled to be held from June 4 to 11, at the Gautam Budh Nagar. Camp of the selected players will take place at the KD Singh ‘Babu’ stadium here till May 31.
