A suspected agent of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) has been detained by the intelligence wing of Rajasthan Police from Jaisalmer district.

The accused has been identified as Haji Khan, a resident of Kunjarali village of Jaisalmer.

He was detained from his house following intelligence inputs. Sources in the security agencies said that Khan was on their radar for the past few months.

They said that Pakistani spy Sadiq Khan, who was arrested when he was about to board the Thar Express in Bhagatki-Kothi railway station in Jodhpur on January 27 this year, had revealed about Haji Khan.

He was detained a few months back, but released due to lack of evidence. But since then the security agencies have been keeping track on his activities.

Some documents were also recovered from his possession, sources said.

Khan’s, grandfather lives in Pakistan and he used to visit Pakistan at regular intervals, sources added.

This year, the intelligence agencies have arrested about half a dozen Pakistani spies from the western border.

On March 2, CID (Border Intelligence) arrested three spies, one Indian national and two Pakistani nationals. The Indian national was arrested from Chohtan block of Rajasthan’s Barmer district, while the Pakistani nationals were nabbed from Jodhpur.

In February this year, Bariyam Khan from Jaisalmer and Haji Khan, a resident of Kishangarh in Jaisalmer was arrested.

Last year, intelligence agencies had nabbed many Pakistani spies from bordering Barmer and Jaisalmer districts.
