Meerut swimmers emerge victorious with 14 gold medals

Meerut swimmers bagged 14 gold medals to emerge overall champions in the State Sub-Junior Aquatics Championship, which concluded at the KD Singh ‘Babu’ Stadium pool here on Monday. Hosts Lucknow with six gold medals finished top in the diving events. Sports Hostel in boys group 3, Saifai Sports College in boys group 4, Faizabad in girls group 3 and Meerut in girls group four emerged champions. On the final day of the three-day championship, Suraj Chauhan, Manjari Jaiswal, Virat Chauhan, Aaradhya Nishad, Shiv Shanker Yadav, Saranya, Suhani Jain, Kabeer Bawa, Srishti Tandon, Daksh Bajail, Ankit Punia and Sunil Nishad bagged gold medals.

STATE CRICKET

The Wings of Champions State Cricket Tournament begins on Tuesday at the Moti Lal Nehru Stadium in Rae Bareli. Five teams i.e. Dabang, Warriors, Bulls, Thunders and Sultans have confirmed their participation, states organizing secretary Azaz.

Needing 107 to win 30 overs, DYA romped home in 22 overs. In other pre-quarterfinal tie of the day, Standard Club scored three-wicket win against Dhruv Cricket Academy, at the Multi Activity ground.
