Tech entrepreneur discusses startup potential of state capital
Technology entrepreneur Saurabh Saha, promoter of a Bengaluru-based startup geekshala.in, is on a visit to the state capital these days.
He visited IIM Lucknow campus on Tuesday to discuss with the academia how to create an eco-system for entrepreneurship in Lucknow.
Saha, who has experience of creating several startups after having worked in technology companies in Bay area, California and Europe feels that Lucknow has immense potential and an atmosphere could be built here to promote entrepreneurship.
With his roots in Lucknow, he has agreed to collaborate in developing much needed entrepreneurial culture here and has many proposals for the same. This interaction is being arranged under the joint auspices of LMA and IIM-L.
Various options to promote entrepreneurship among the young managers were discussed in the interactive session that was attended by IIM Lucknow faculty. “The purpose of my visit was to explore the state and find out if we can locally build a ‘tech ecosystem’ here in Lucknow similar to SF Bay Area or Bengaluru,” he said. He said IIM-Lucknow will play the role of a sole enabler for tech companies in UP facilitating everything from product conception to IPO.
“I guess a vision is needed to alter the future of mankind. Look at what Elon Musk is doing with Tesla, SpaceX and The Boring Company,” said Saha who has almost 10 plus years of experience in product engineering and product management.
“I have had the pleasure of working in different geographies during the course of my career in various capacities with some of the top Fortune 500 companies across the globe,” he told HT.
Saha also ran a think tank for UNESCO on sustainability for two years as head of entrepreneurship & innovation. “I am also a speaker at B-Schools and tech schools across the country.”
