MoU soon on teaching Hindi in M’rashtra, Marathi in UP :CM
Uttar Pradesh is going to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Maharashtra government to ensure government schools in UP teach Marathi and Hindi is taught in Maharashtra.
Chief minister Yogi Adityanath made this disclosure while speaking at a function organised by a Hindi news channel here on Tuesday. “This will stop opposition for Hindi in Maharashtra and while our students will learn Marathi here in government schools,” he said.
Hinting at making structural changes in the school curriculum from the next year, he said his government was also considering incorporating one foreign language other than English, like French, German into the government schools’ curriculum while also start teaching regional languages like Bhojpuri, Brij, and Bundelkhandi.
ON LAW AND ORDER
He said his government would deal with criminals mercilessly to establish rule of law in the state at any cost. He said those found guilty of giving patronage to criminals would also be dealt with strictly. He said people would feel a definite change on all the fronts when his government comes with its report card on completing 100 days in power.
ON TRIPLE TALAQ
The CM said triple talaq was essentially a social evil which must be abolished. He said his government would present before the Supreme Court all the representations that it had received from Muslim women demanding abolition of the practice.
ON RAM TEMPLE
Replying to a question, he indirectly appealed to Muslims to come forward to help build the Ram Temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya. “Who does not respect Veer Abdul Hamid and late president Abdul Kalam?” he said suggesting a goodwill gesture by the Muslims on the temple issue will cement Hindu-Muslim unity in the country. He said Muslims, after all, were born in India and they should not identify themselves with Babar and similar people.
