Rapist nabbed, FIR registered

Villagers nabbed a rapist Pramod, 40, while he was trying to escape after sexually assaulting an eight-year-old girl at Gaura Atarsand village of Pratapgarh on Tuesday. The accused had earlier raped a minor and had thrown her in a well in Kandharpur village on May 14. The accused used to sell balloons on his cycle and roam around villages. Kaudhaur station house officer MP Singh reached the scene on receiving information. Pramod confessed to his crime. An FIR was registered against him, the SHO said.
