MDMK chief Vaiko seeks bail in sedition case

MDMK chief Vaiko, who is in jail since April 3 in an eight-yearold sedition case, on Tuesday moved a court seeking bail. The case is likely to come up for hearing in the principal sessions court on Wednesday. Police had registered a case under IPC section related to sedition against Vaiko for a speech he made while releasing his book in 2009. Subsequently, a charge sheet was filed in 2010. However, a trial is yet to commence in the case.
