UP drivers to try luck in Gixxer Cup bike racing

NEW DELHI : Young and energetic drivers from Uttar Pradesh, especially from Baraily, Meerut, Agra, etc, would be seen in action in the racing series being organised this season by JK Tyre & Industries Ltd., which is embarking on a new mission to churn out world class bike racers for the country.

The championsh­ip which is also a talent hunt to find the best rookie bikers across India is baptised as JK Tyre presents Suzuki Gixxer Cup 2017. It envisages two different categories, one for the age-group of 12-16 years and the other for the over 16 year olds.

This racing series will give an opportunit­y to aspiring bikers in every nook and corner of the country to showcase his or her skills and dream of becoming a champion.

With immense potential and talent in the region, the organizers are confident of unearthing quality that the youth here have, not only so the plan is to identify and select the best bikers and turn them into champion racer in coming years through this unique platform.

The trendsette­rs for Indian motorsport, JK Tyre, have tied up with the global leaders in twowheeler­s, Suzuki, to achieve this goal and the short listed talents will become part of their iconic National Racing Championsh­ip, which is in its 20th year starting.

“We have charted the career of almost all our internatio­nal racers right from their karting days till now,” pointed out Sanjay Sharma, JK Tyre’s Corporate Communicat­ion and Motorsport head. “Now that we have entered the two-wheeler market with our tyres, this is a logical step forward. We want to create champion bikers,” he added.
