A special team of administrative officers, staffers from oil companies and officials from weights and measures department raided about 20 petrol pumps in the city on Monday to check fuel dispensation. The team, headed by district magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma, discovered no irregularities.

Officials said unlike previous cases in which computerised chips were recovered from the fuel dispensing units, this time they did not find that any fuel dispensing unit had been tampered with.

“No irregularities were found in the fuel dispensing units,” said DM Kaushal Raj Sharma.

Siddhivinayak Industries, Anil service station, AN filling station, Mishra Brothers service station, Santosh service station, Arihant fuels, Chandra filling station, Shashi filling station, Super India filling station, SN Kohli and Brothers, Shri filling centre and Sankalp filling station were raided.

In the second phase of the checking drive, the administrative has checked around 50 petrol pumps. Initially the administrative officials, UP Special Task Force (STF), officials of oil companies and people from weights and measures department raided around 45 petrol pump in the state capital and recovered ‘cheat chips’ from over 30 of them.

The city has about 202 petrol pumps.

The DM has constituted 10 teams to conduct raids in different parts of the city.

Unlike the previous drive in which the teams were sealing the entire petrol pump (on the recovery of cheat chips from the fuel dispensing units), this time the officials would seal only the dispensing unit which was tampered with.
