ALLAHABAD: Had she been alive, Seema (name changed) would have been ecstatic on seeing her results. But destiny had a different plan for her.

Seema , one of the four of a family killed in Judapur village under Nawabganj police station around 40 kilometres from here on April 23, 2017, had appeared in Intermediate examinations of UP Board from RD Convent School, Nawabganj before her death. After results were declared on Friday, survivors of her family her brother Ranjit and sister Babita, who were away from the home on the fateful night, could not control their tears after seeing the marks. Seema had secured 88% in the examination.

It may be mentioned that on April 23 night, Makhan Lal and his wife Meera along with their two daughters were at home while the other two children of Makhan Lal, Ranjit and Babita, were not at home. The family had a sound financial background and Makhan Lal ran a grocery store for a living. All four were murdered on the fateful night.

According to Ranjit, Seema was a brilliant student and had scored more marks in high school exam than anyone else in the village.

“She has secured 96% marks in mathematics, 92% in science and 76% in English in her Intermediate examination. She wanted to become an IAS officer but now everything is finished and there is no meaning of this result,” he said.

An emotional Babita, sister of deceased Seema was unable to her control her tears. In a choked voice she said, “She was a hardworking soul and would be happy to see her results from above.”

Due to security reasons Ranjit and Babita, two surviving members of the family have been kept in Circuit House by district administration till the rape and murder case is solved.
