Aligarh youth’s head shaved for divorcing wife

-

A youth who divorced his wife over a trivial issue had to pay a heavy price for his fit of anger, as his brothers-in-law shaved off his head and threw him out of the house. Later, he realised his mistake and begged his wife to return home, but she refused.

A woman of Eidgah Colony in Murad Nagar was married to a youth of Patwari Ka Nagla here five years back.

A week ago, she went to her parental home. On Thursday evening at the time of roza iftar, the youth reached there to take her home. His wife asked him to bring some dates from the market but he refused. The couple had an argument and suddenly the youth pronounced triple talaq. Hearing this, his brothers-in-law started beating him. On the direction of their sister, they shaved his head and were about to blacken his face but she stopped them. After two hours, the youth repented his hasty action. He went to his wife and apologized, asking her to accompany him home but she refused. Later, he was shown the door.

In another case, a man threw his wife out of the house because she had given birth to three daughters.

Anjali Rajput of Tajpur Rasoolpur, who was married to Devendra Singh of Mandauli village six years back, alleged that after marriage the in-laws harassed her for more dowry. When she gave birth to a daughter, they started assaulting her.

After the birth of two more daughters, her harassment increased, she said. Some days back, she was thrown out of the house.

Anjali met SSP Rajesh Pande on Friday and told him her in-laws were marrying her husband again so that he may have a son. The SSP has directed area police to register a case and take necessary action.
