In the first incident, a 16-yearold girl, resident of Shram Vihar, a colony for the under privileged in Alambagh , was raped by four youths of the same locality. The girl, daughter of a factory worker, knew two of the accused.

She told the cops that one Govind, who lived close to her house, called her at his friend Shubham’s room, saying that her 3-year-old cousin had incidentally reached there. When she went there, Govind and Shubham locked her in the room and raped her along with their two accomplices for over three hours.

She said they threatened her not to complain to the police.

The victim said she was freed when she assured them that she would not approach the police. However, after getting freed, she called up UP 100, police emergency response centre, and informed about the incident .

ASP (East), Sarvesh Mishra said Govind and Shubham had been arrested after registering an FIR of gangrape.

He added that the police were trying to ascertain the identities of the two other accused.

In another incident, a 12-yearold girl was allegedly gangraped by four minor boys in Nagram’s Utarawa village, when she was grazing her cattle in the forest near her village.
