LUCKNOW: A property dealer allegedly shot his second wife dead after a dispute at his house in Talkatora area on Wednesday afternoon.

He fled leaving the woman’s body in the verandah and is still at large.

The accused, Naresh Rathore stayed with his wife Geeta and two kids in Faridinagar, Madiaon. His second wife, Manni, 28, stayed separately in his second house in Talkatora’s Alamnagar locality and a woman Kamla also stayed as tenant in the same house. Naresh married Manni around two years ago and the couple has five-month-old daughter.

Kamla told the cops that she got alerted after hearing the bullet sound at 1.30 pm and saw Naresh moving out of the house carrying his wife in unconscious state. She said Naresh took his wife in a four-wheeler and returned after 30 minutes.

“Naresh fled leaving Manni in unconscious state in the verandah. On close examination, it appeared that she had died. Only a few minutes later, Manni’s father Banshi Lal reached the spot and informed the police about the incident,” Kamla said.

Banshi Lal told the cops that Naresh himself had informed him about killing Manni.

Vijay Sen, station officer of Talkatora police station said, initial probe suggested that Naresh shot Manni on her chin from point blank range after some confrontation. He said the victim’s father has lodged an FIR against Naresh under IPC section 302 in the matter. The police have sent the body for post-mortem examination and further probe is on in the case.
