LUCKNOW: The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) will be allotting houses to applicants in its CG City housing project at Sultanpur road on Thursday through a lottery draw.

The development authority would conduct the lottery draw at its Gomti Nagar office for two category of flats- Lower Income Group (LIG) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS). According to officials, 1844 applicants are in the fray for 512 LIG and 747 EWS flats. The cost of these flats varies from Rs 8 lakh to Rs 19 lakh.

For convenience of home buyers, the development authority has for the first time increased carpet area for both the LIG and EWS flats. The LIG flat has a floor area of 63 square metres and the EWS flat has an area of 50 square metres. “In past, LIG and EWS flats did not find many takers as they were too small. Keeping this in mind, flats in the CG City were allotted more carpet area,” said a senior LDA official.

LDA in association with 12 private developers has acquired more than 10,500 acres of land on NH-56 (Lucknow- Sultanpur road) for developing the hightech township, which would be located on a 10 km stretch of road starting from Arjunganj to Gosaiganj. This stretch of the NH- 56 has become a favoured destination for many looking for a house in the state capital.

The LDA’s 850 acre Chak Gazaria township and 50 acre Shane-Awadh are also among the 12 major townships coming up on road stretch.

In this cluster, Ansal Housing, a private construction company, would set up its township on 6,500 acres, which is the biggest in the proposed Greater Lucknow area.

After Ansal, Sahara India’s township is coming up on 2,052 areas–second biggest in the cluster.
