LUCKNOW: “Avoid using Chinese goods in festivals to ensure that China comes to India with a begging bowl ,” said Indresh Kumar, member, national committee of Rashtriya Swayamswak Sangh (RSS) here on Friday.

“We have about 5 crore people sleeping without food as we consume 59% of Chinese products, particularly during festivals. If Indian goods are used, these people will not sleep hungry and China, that is creating hindrance for India in getting security council membership will one day come to us for financial help,” he said.

Addressing the felicitation ceremony organised by the World Women Awakening Organisation (WWAO) to mark the martyrdom day of Rani Laxmibai (June 18), he said, “Pakistan’s elimination date is decided. All those who are born have to die. Our forces will do the job.” he said.

Pakistan was once disturbed in 1971 and would again get a similar or more severe jerk from Indian forces, he said.

“We remember Rani Laxmibai for her fight against the British but her real courage was in her spirit. She refused to compromse on her honesty for her motherland and her people. We need to emulate her spirit and not just remember her on one day in a year,” said Indresh.

During the programme, women achievers from different fields were felicitated by minister Anupama Jaiswal.

“These awards are in recognition of their work. We hope more women are awarded next year,” said Rita Jaiswal, national president of WWAO.

Various groups gave performances on the life of Rani Laxmibai during the event.
