With PM attending, elaborate security planned for Yoga Day
The state police have made elaborate security arrangements for the International Yoga Day celebrations at Ramabai rally Sthal on June 21. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the celebrations along with 51,000 participants.
Talking to the media persons, IG (law and order) Hari Ram Sharma said 400 CCTV will be installed at the rally ground to keep a watch on the programme. “Besides, 10 companies of the central paramilitary forces, 25 companies of the provincial armed constabulary, 2 teams of the anti-terrorist squad, 26 SPs, 51 ASPs, 137 DSPs, 224 inspectors, 992 sub inspectors, 63 women sub-inspectors, 295 head constables, 3700 constables, 480 women con stables, 12 traffic inspectors, 157 traffic sub inspectors, 123 traffic head constables and 497 traffic constables will be deployed,” he said.
The ADG, Lucknow, has been made the nodal officer for the security of the programme.
“The Lucknow Nagar Nigam will install LED screen at 11 parks in the city where people will see the live telecast of the programme. On June 19, full rehearsal of the Yoga Day celebration will be organised at the rally ground,” Sharma said.
PM Modi will arrive in the city on June 20.
He will inaugurate the new building and laboratory of the CDRI, the new building of the APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University and the 400 KV LucknowKanpur transmission line on that day.
He will also hand over the letters to 20 beneficiaries of the Prime Minister Awas Yojana.
The PM will have dinner at the official residence of the chief minister.
He will take night stay at the Raj Bhawan. On June 21, he will arrive at Ramabai ground at 6.30 am to participate in the Yoga Day celebration. He will leave the ground at 7.50am for New Delhi.
The state government has sent invitation to former chief ministers Mulayam Singh Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati for the celebration. Union ministers and ministers from the state are likely to take part in the programme.
