Soon, rural pockets to be free of encroachment
Soon, the district administration will launch a crackdown against the encroachers in the rural parts of the district as it has constituted an ‘anti bhu-mafia’ task force to check the encroachment menace.
District administration’s move is said to be an outcome of the frequently reported land disputes.
“It is seen that the cases of land disputes are more in the rural areas of the district than in urban areas. So, we have decided to take concrete measures to curb the encroachment menace,” said Kaushal Raj Sharma, district magistrate, Lucknow.
The anti bhu-mafia’ task force comprises of 16 members, including all ADMs’, Lucknow Development Authority officials, tehsildaars and others. In a meeting, the DM directed the members of the task force to make a register, having complete land records.
He said the team would ensure complete check on encroachment. “The task force, he said would also study the complaints, against encroachers or encroachment at the local police station or at tehsil level and redress it with immediate effect,” said Sharma.
He directed that action on the pending complaints should be initiated within 15 days and its report has to be submitted with the district administration.
The administration is also in process to initiate an anti-encroachment drive in urban pockets. It has prepared a blueprint of the drive and has sought encroachment details from all the concerned departments. Initially, the administration has picked four main problematic areas—including Qaiserbagh, Charbagh, Hazratganj and Chowk.
As per the plan, the entire city would be divided into 10 sectors, said the DM.
Besides, special teams have been constituted which includes ACMs’, CO, zonal officers of Nagar Nigam, executive engineer from LDA, engineer from PWD and other senior officers to deal with the issues.
