LUXE PORTABLE TOILET FOR VVIPS

- Oliver Fredrick oliver.friedrick@htlive.com

More than anything else, what grabbed all eyeballs at the Ramabai Ambedkar Maidan was the plush portable toilet for VVIPs that arrived from Maharashtra on Sunday.

Ramzan Ali H Dawoodni, owner of the black mini toilet, said it was well equipped with all amenities. “Ours is the lone such toilet in Maharashtra. Even Mumbai does not have a toilet like this. That is why we get toilet bookings from Bollywood. It’s best for outdoor film shooting and many big actors and actresses have used it,’ he said, adding that he had been called by a vendor from Delhi to render his services in the June 21 event.

Dawoodni, who himself runs an event management company, said he and his son had designed the toilet to suit the VVIPs.

“We got this toilet assembled two years back when we came across many complaints of VVIPs regarding poor toilet arrangements at a high profile function in Mumbai. So I decided to assemble one of my own,” he said. Father and son took help from Youtube and Internet and finally got it assembled. “We converted a vehicle into the toilet and installed air conditioning and high class toilet ware of portable sizes to keep it compact,” he said.

The toilet has a capacity to store 400 litres of waste and 350 litres of water that makes it highly efficient. He said special deodorising arrangements had been also made to keep the toilet it odourless.

Yogesh Sharma, who runs an event management company in Delhi and is managing toilets at the June 21 event, said there were three VVIP toilets, one from Maharashtra and two from Delhi. Besides, there were 500 toilets for the participants of the event.
