Jeddah-bound flight delayed for over 12 hrs due to tech snag

The Jeddah-bound flight from Lucknow, SV-897 of Saudi Airlines, was cancelled few minutes before its scheduled take-off on Saturday evening.

The flight leaves for Jeddah on 6.05 pm daily and on Saturday, it had 191 passengers on board.

The airlines officials said the flight was cancelled due to some snag in the wheels.

Engineers were called to examine the problem.

The Saudi Airlines staff at the Lucknow airport, shifted the passengers to a nearby hotel for night stay.

The flight finally left for Jeddah at 7am on Sunday.

Director, Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport, AK Sharma said, “The take-off was cancelled due to some technical snag. Since, it is an international airline, all the protocols were followed which delayed the repair work.”
