Security in place, Lucknow geared up to greet the PM
LUCKNOW: The city was on Monday geared up to greet Narendra Modi on his fourth visit as Prime Minister on Tuesday.
The district administration and police have made elaborate security arrangements and traffic diversions for Modi’s about 15-hour visit, spread over June 20 and June 21.
District administration officials said the PM would arrive at Amausi airport at around 4 pm on June 20 and take a chopper to the Central Drug Research Institute, where he would inaugurate the new building of the institute and also visit its laboratory.
Modi would then leave for the new campus of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University in Jankipuram extension, Sitapur road where he would inaugurate the new campus and also dedicate a 400 KV Lucknow-Kanpur DC transmission line to the state.
Before his night stay at Raj Bhawan, Modi would attend a dinner hosted by chief minister Yogi Adityanath at 5 KD, official residence of the CM.
On June 21 (International Yoga Day) the PM would attend a mega yoga event at the sprawling Ramabai Ambedkar ground. Along with the PM, governor Ram Naik, the CM and 51,000 other participants would perform yoga. The yoga session is expected to start at around 6.30 am and end at around 7.50 am, after which Modi would leave for the airport to fly to Delhi.
SECURITY ARRANGEMENTS
Around 26 SPs, 51 ASPs, 137 circle officers, 224 inspector, 992 sub-inspector, 163 women S-Is, 295 head constables, 3700 constables, 480 female constables, 12 traffic inspectors, 157 traffic S-Is, 497 traffic constables, 10 companies of CRPF, 25 companies PAC and 2 teams of ATS will ensure security arrangements for the PM’s visit.
Besides, on June 21, around 400 CCTV cameras and drone cameras would be deployed to keep strict vigil at the venue.
IG (Law and Order) Hari Ram Sharma said, “The state police have made elaborate security arrangements for the International Yoga Day celebration. Other than the deployment of heavy constabulary, we have also installed hundreds of CCTV cameras and drone cameras to ensure complete security”. Traffic diversions As per the diversion plan on June 20, inflow of heavy vehicles from all state highways would remain diverted.
City Law College, Uttam Hospital crossing, tri-crossing near AKTU gate number 2 are a few points where the traffic diversion of light vehicles would be enforced.
On June 21, traffic near Amausi airport, Shaheed Path and Raj Bhawan would be diverted.
