Man lynched for raping, killing minor

ALIGARH:In a gruesome incident, a man raped his employer’s 6-yearold daughter and then strangulated her to death in Bheekampur village here on Tuesday.

Later, the agitated villagers thrashed him badly and he succumbed to his injuries during treatment at the JN Medical College on Wednesday morning.

The accused, Arvind, 32, of Badaun, was a servant at the shop of victim’s father. On Monday, Arvind was drunk, so the victim’s uncle shunned him away by from the shop.

On Tuesday, he was found sleeping at work, so he was again scolded and asked to leave. At 12 noon, the victim was going with her mother to give lunch to her father. The accused met them midway and took the girl with him on the pretext of buying her toffees. When he did not return for hours, girl’s family members started looking for her.

Meanwhile, some women from the village spotted him in an inebriated state in an orchard. When they also saw the girl’s naked body with injuries, they raised an alarm. The villagers rushed to the spot and assaulted the accused.

They also jammed the GT road for a while. Later, SDM (Kol), Pankaj Verma, reached the spot and calmed the agitating villagers and made them vacate the road. The girl’s father lodged a FIR against his servant for raping and murdering her daughter.

SP (City), Atul Shrivastva, said, “Arvind, 32, of Badaun murdered the 6-year-old daughter of his employer after raping her. The public assaulted him badly but the police reached and rushed him to medical college in a serious condition. However, he died at 5am on Wednesday. After his death, we have registered FIRs at the Bannadevi police station against 60 villagers for lynching him.”
