- Rajesh Srivastava htrajesh9@gmail.com

ALLAHABAD: The UP tourist department is planning to set up 100 tourist-police centres in different parts of Sangam city before the Ardh Kumbh 2019. The work is expected to kick-off from October onwards.

These centres will be set up with a budget of Rs 2.22 crore.

A proposal for it has been sent to the state government, said a tourist department official.

The centres will be set up in such a way that pilgrims can spot them easily and get their issues resolved with the help of tourist cops who will be present there in plain clothes.

The centres, equipped with high-tech facilities, will be connected with each other to share information and messages in order to facilitate pilgrims.

The cops and officials deputed at these centres will also be given walkietalkies so that they can coordinate with officials concerned and local cops in a better way.
