Sensors to protect antiques at Allahabad Museum

ALLAHABAD: The Allahabad Museum, one of the four national museums in the country, has decided to use sensor chips to protect antique items on display. These chips will help the authoritie­s to know about visitors in the gallery and will also send an alarm to the control room if someone touches any object. These chips are being installed at a cost of Rs 15 lakh and the union ministry of culture has sanctioned the first instalment Rs 5 lakh. “The work of installing sensor chips will begin after an inspection by a team of experts from the ministry next week,” said director, Allahabad Museum, Rajesh Purohit.
