KANPUR: In a move that would financially benefit the small scale businesses, the UP State Industrial Development Corporation (UPSIDC) has finalized a proposal for setting up industrial units in multi-storey buildings to be constructed in trans-Ganga High Tech city near Ganga barrage.

Managing director of the UPSIDC Ranveer Prasad said: “It would benefit the small industrialists. They would get the area on cheaper prices.

They would be required to get the map passed by the municipal authorities.”

While the industrial plots are available at ₹10,850 square metre the flats would come at a price between ₹3000 and ₹4000 square metre, said sources.

The buildings may have hosiery, readymade garments, leather goods and furniture units.

The Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Corporation authorities have called a meeting with the representatives of different industries on June 22 to know their requirements.

However, the UPSIDC would not allot the flats to those industries that required water and chemicals in the production process.

In case if 200 industrialists agreed for setting up their units in the buildings, a similar complex would be developed in Saraswati High-Tech city in Naini at Allahabad.
