Lucknow Metro: Fifth set of train arrives
LUCKNOW: The fifth train set of Lucknow Metro arrived at the Transport Nagar Metro Depot from Sri City in Chennai on Tuesday.
All four cars of the rolling stock (metro train) reached here by road through special trailers from the manufacturing unit of Alstom. All necessary trials have been conducted at the manufacturing plant and only dynamic trials of the train are required to be done at the depot on its arrival in Lucknow. Each coach is loaded on a special trailer having 64 wheels. A 180-tonne crane is used to load 40 tonne cars using a special spreader. It takes about 10 hours to load all four cars.
Meanwhile, all the four trains are already running on the mainline for testing of signalling system. LMRC is now set to start Metro train service for the public after commissioning of this train. Initially, four trains will be utilised to start the service.
