UP CABINET also approves transfer policy for teachers

Below Poverty Line (BPL) card holders living in urban areas of Uttar Pradesh will be given free electricit­y connection­s, a cabinet meeting presided over by chief minister Yogi Adityanath decided on Thursday. Millions of poor people are likely to benefit from this decision. The cabinet also decided to raze all dilapidate­d community as well as primary health centres and build new ones.

LUCKNOW: Agencies associated with family members of the legislator­s will no more be allotted work sanctioned under the Legislator­s Local Area Developmen­t Fund (Vidhayak Nidhi).

Under the new rule, only government approved agencieswi­ll be allowed to carry out work.

The decision was taken by the UP cabinet on Thursday.

Chief minister Yogi Adityanath presided over the meeting, which also approved transfer policy for teachers of government degree colleges and secondary education schools.

The cabinet also decided to cancel the process of e-tendering in Integrated Child Developmen­t Scheme (ICDS).

As fresh tendering process will take nearly three months, the cabinet approved procuremen­t of nutritious food on rates approved in 2013. Briefing media persons, UP ministers Siddharth Nath Singh and Shrikant Sharma said the transfers of government degree college teachers would be carried out online.

Teachers seeking transfer would be allowed to give three options and transfer would be carried out on the basis of parameters provided in the transfer policy. The transfer requests of such teachers would be accepted who have spouses working in armed forces and central para military forces or have serious ailments.

The cabinet also approved a 400 KV power substation each in Rae Bareli (Rs 375.28 crore) and Firozabad (Rs 268.01 crore). The cabinet approved proposal to take loan of Rs 3000 crore from HUDCO to provide state’s share in Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. A sum of Rs 4656.5184 would be spent on constructi­on of 970108 houses. Demolition of six community health centres and primary health centres was give nod to pave way for constructi­on of OPDs and trauma centre. The CHCs/PHCs to be demolished are in Kanpur Nagar, Amethi, Allahabad, Baghpat and Bhadohi.

A policy for distributi­on of awards to the specially abled was also given a green signal.

The cabinet approved amendment to backward classes welfare department’s rules to allow CCC computer courses along with O level computer courses by the department. Proposal to increase cost of Azamgarh Engineerin­g College to Rs 133.49 crore and upgradatio­n of Sangrampur town of Gorakhpur from village panchayat to nagar panchayat were also given a green signal.
