B PEd practical exams to be re-conducted

Lucknow University has decided to cancel the B PEd first and second year practical examinatio­ns held at Aryavart College here on June 6 after some candidates complained about anomalies. These exams will be re-conducted at the Christian College.

The LU has formed a committee to investigat­e into the complaint and fetched all the documents related to the aforesaid examinatio­n from the college. Based on the complaint, there will be a scrutiny of documents.

The committee will be headed by dean, faculty of arts. The other members are dean, faculty of education, dean, college developmen­t council, president of LUACTA, controller of examinatio­n, deputy registrar, examinatio­n and member secretary.

A meeting of LU’s examinatio­n committee was held on June 20. It was chaired by vice-chancellor Prof SP Singh. It also was decided to adopt the 2016 notificati­on for ayurveda and unani faculties. However, for students enrolled before the notificati­on of 2016, the 2012 notificati­on will be applicable. University guidelines will be adopted for all the examinatio­ns in these faculties and for each paper-setting there will be only one examiner.

M Sc zoology students of BSNV PG College, who had missed their elective paper, will be given another opportunit­y for appearing in the exam. However, the committee decided to make the college answerable to the university for students missing the elective paper.
