LU self-finance course classes to begin in July

All the classes of self finance courses in Lucknow University will start on time in July ,when the university reopens for the new academic session.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of all deans, coordinators and directors of self financed courses on Thursday.

The meeting was called specially to address the problems related to self finance courses.

It was decided that the coordinators/directors of the self finance courses should work out the load that should be shared by the visiting faculty or the contractual teachers to be appointed.

Accordingly, teachers may be appointed for self finance courses as per the work load. There would be two categories of teachers . The first category would constitute the visiting or the guest faculty who could be retired teachers or the subject experts, said LU spokesperson, NK Pandey.

They would be requested to take as in practice on per class/ hour basis. The second category would constitute teachers who would be appointed on contract basis as per the work load, he said.

They would be appointed as per the eligibility criteria and be paid a respectable amount depending on the income of the respective self finance courses, he said.

Cordinators/directors have been asked to furnish their requirements at the earliest so that the contractual appointment process is speeded up and the classes are not hampered when the university opens.

To remove the anomalies in payment for practical classes it was decided that two hours of laboratory work be treated as equivalent to one theory class, said Prof Pandey .
