LUCKNOW: The Samajwadi Party (SP) has reacted sharply over the Yogi government’s decision to order probe into the projects launched by the erstwhile Akhilesh Yadav government.

“Looks like the Bharatiya Janata Party government in Uttar Pradesh has become a probe committee. The government is indulging in politics of vendetta,” said chief spokesperson of the Samajwadi Party Rajendra Chaudhary on Thursday.

“To hide its failure in delivering on the promises it made to the people, the BJP government is busy discrediting the previous government. In four days from now, the new government will complete 100 days. What report card will the chief minister show to the people?”

Chaudhary said in 100 days of BJP governance, farmers, traders and youth were feeling distressed. “GST (the new tax regime) has terrorised the traders; instead of job creation for youth, the government is using force on peacefully protesting students; the farmers were going through financial crisis waiting for loan waiver and women are living in fear,” he said.

Quoting former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav who also is the SP national president, Chaudhary said: “The BJP government should have had launched some scheme, and by now should have done something bigger than what the SP government did.”

Chaudhary said instead of initiating any now projects and schemes, the new government had merely changed names of Akhilesh Yadav government’s works and showcasing them as its own.
