Be respectful to BJP leaders, SE tells SDO
Stirring a controversy, a superintending engineer of Dakshinanchal Power Distribution Corporation has written an official letter to the sub-divisional officer directing him to be respectful to BJP leaders and workers.
“If he fails in being courteous to men belonging to the ruling party, he would be punished,” the letter, which went viral on social media, reads.
As damage control, the superintending engineer Kishan Singh has sent out another letter to corporation officials broadening his list of people to whom the courtesies should be extended.
This letter asks them to show respect to customers as well. “Yes I wrote the letter after I got complaints about the behaviour of SDO Jalaun,” Singh said.
The BJP MP and MLAs, he said, had pointed out in the meeting with district magistrate that the SDOs were rude to them.
They cited the example of SDO Jalaun who didn’t offer the leaders even a chair to sit. “Nor was he paying enough attention to the complaint or to leaders and workers,” said Singh while adding, “This is why I wrote a letter to the SDO.”
“If they (SDOs) are not behaving properly with public representatives, imagine how they will be dealing with the public,” he said.
Senior Samajwadi Party leader Dr Imran Idrees said, “The BJP was misusing power.”
