The programme designed by former left-arm spinner Maninder Singh and Australian allrounder Darren Lehman is expected to have over 500 young cricketers from the state capital in two different categories during the trials.

“At least 40-50 cricketers are expected to challenge each other before going to the national trials at Noida,” said Pratibhashali 2017’s chairman Vishal Uppal on Friday.

“It’s a programme to spot talent worldwide, and we have plans to conduct trials in seven cities of Uttar Pradesh, including Allahabad, Muzzafarnagar, Meerut, Noida, Ghaziabad, Kanpur etc.”

“Finally, a team of selected cricketers would be sent to Australia for advance training and physical endurance,” said Uppal, adding, “We have received a great response in Punjab and Himachal and so far 48 players have been selected for the national trials.”

“We are doing everything for cricketers free of cost,” he added.
