Notices to 7 more govt-run healthcare establishments
Seven more government-run healthcare establishments were issued notices after a health team identified them as mosquito breeding spots during inspections carried out on Sunday. The action was taken as part of the CMO office’s drive against vector-borne diseases.
The government establishments included Balrampur hospital, Lok Bandhu combined hospital, community health centre, Chandernagar, Rani Laxmibai combined hospital, Thakurganj hospital and urban community health centre, Red Cross.
Besides, a fast food shop near BRD Hospital in Mahanagar and the state health training bureau were identified as mosquito breeding spots. Letters were issued to these establishments to rectify the situation within 24 hours.
The teams visited 27 places in the city and issued eight notices.
These inspections were not a surprise. There had been prior announcement by the CMO office that the health teams will be visiting these establishments as part of the campaign against vector-borne diseases.
In the past two days, 33 other government establishments including the King George’s Medical University (vice-chancellor’s office, residence and different hostels) were served notices on the same issue. The surveys/inspections will be carried out on Monday also.
Health teams will now make surprise visits to places where notices have been served and if the situation has not improved there, a fine of ₹5000 will be slapped.
