LUCKNOW: Aparna Yadav, the yo unger daughter-in-law of Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Si ngh Yadav, has denied any association with the city based NGO Jeev Ashray, which was in the news for bagging 86% of the financial grants by the Gau Sewa Ayog.

In a press statement on Monday, Aparna said that her name and that of her husband were unnecessarily dragged into the controversy over the NGO funding. “The news ascribing that the NGO belongs to me and my husband is a blatant lie and scurrilous. We have no relation, whatsoever, with the NGO, Jeev Ashray Gaushala, Lucknow. We are not even a member of Jeev Ashray Gaushala. I strongly condemn association of our names with Jeev Ashray Gaushala in getting the financial aid for the Gaushala disbursed by the state government. I do accept, being an animal lover, I have visited Jeev Ashray Gaushala several times alone and also with family, friends and wellwishers. But this does not mean that we become owners of Kanha Upvan,” said Aparna Yadav.

“Kanha-Upvan was one such sought-after destination in our scheduled task where we have been going very often and contributing our bit to the cause of animal protection. But just because of our passion and our services to the cause of animals, perception was built falsely that we are out to grab the Kanha Upvan and taking government grants for ourselves,” said Aparna in her statement.

She said, “The conduct of the self-proclaimed social activist Mrs Nutan Thakur in fabricating the impugned news is highly deplorable.”
