LU tells teachers to avoid leave in initial 2 months of session
LUCKNOW: Ahead of the beginning of new academic session from Monday, Lucknow University issued an advisory for the teachers that they must not take leave in the initial two months of the session, barring any emergency.
This is to ensure that the classes and lab session are not missed. Vice-chancellor, Prof SP Singh, asked the heads of the departments to ensure that the classes are held as per the timetable.
“Teachers must not miss their classes. The V-C may make random visit to different classrooms. Departments have been advised to send the time-table for uploading it on the website of the varsity by July 17,” said LU spokesperson, NK Pandey.
This time, LU will go for online tests for the internal assessment/evaluation, for which different departments would prepare multiple choice questions test papers for various subjects.
Also, all the departments will organize ‘shramdan’ of two hours every Saturday when teachers, employees and students will do cleaning works in and around their departments.
The students are required to bring their allotment letter or fee receipt till they are issued the university’s identity card.
Entry of any outsider inside the campus is illegal and the offender will be punished. Students are required to go to library or go home once their classes are over.
Besides, ahead of the beginning of the new session, the university administration has decided to put a ban on all kinds of student protests and agitations on its campus to ensure peaceful academic atmosphere.
Also, the students found guilty of defacing the university walls with graffiti or by putting up poster will face severe action including financial punishment of Rs25,000 for not complying with the orders. Proctor Vinod Singh issued these directives on Saturday.
