Hizbul modules busted, three held
SRINAGAR: Two modules of Hizbul Mujahideen have been busted in Kashmir with the arrest of seven persons; one among them had gotten a Pakistani visa on the recommendation of a separatist organisation, police said on Sunday.
It did not specify the name of the separatist organisation.
Officials said that one of the HM recruitment modules was revealed in northern district of Baramulla which was active in the area to “lure young boys into terrorism”.
“This module was being spearheaded by Hizb-ul-Mujahideen commander Parvez Wani alias Mubashir resident of Gagloora Handwara,” said Srinagar based spokesman of police.
The official identified those busted as Ansar-ul-lah Tantray, Abdul Rashid Bhat and Mehrajud-din Kak, all residents of Baramulla district.
The official disclosed that Abdul Rashid Bhat had visited Pakistan in the month of May this year and obtained militant training in Khalid Bin Waleed camp of HM located in PoK.
“He had got the visa from Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi on the recommendation of one separatist organisation,” the police spokesman said.
“The module had plans to send many boys to Pakistan on valid visa to get them trained in terrorist camps of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK),” the official said.
Arms, ammunition and one Lakh rupees of Indian currency was also recovered from their possession.
“The module was not only luring young boys to terrorism but as well providing all logistic support to other terrorists of HM outfit... Recently Baramulla Police saved around 10 boys meant to be inducted in terror ranks from the clutches of terrorists and were handed over to parents,” the official said.
Similarly another module was busted in south Kashmir’s Shopian district with the arrest of four over the ground workers (OGWs) of HM. One of the arrested is a police constable.
The official said that the module came to fore while pursuing the investigation into the attack on special police officer Khurshid Ahmed in Imamsahab, Shopian on June 11.
