Shilpi Agarwal of Faizabad, who cleared the CA final examination, results of which were declared on Tuesday, is elated.

She said she had realised the dreams of her father, who couldn’t become a chartered accountant due to family problems.

“My father is an accounts manager. He would always tell us that he wanted to become a CA, but could not pursue his dreams due to some issues. This motivated me to realise his dreams and I started preparing,” said Shilpi, who scored 241 out of 400.

Sarita Yadav, another CA aspirant, had been trying hard to for seven years to clear the final exam. She finally did it, this year. “All these years, I only managed to clear the initial levels. My teachers at school told me that CA was the highest degree for commerce students. Ever since then I wanted to a chartered accountant, and worked hard to achieve my dream. I am glad I could do it finally,” she said.

In this time’s CA final results, 30 students from Lucknow were successful, said officials of the Lucknow branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

More than 800 students appeared for the examinations conducted in Lucknow.

Five students cleared both groups of the final examination together, 69 cleared the first group, and 50 passed the second group of papers.

However, none from the city could make it to the all-India top 50 positions, said officials of ICAI.

Kapil Saluja, son of a chartered accountant, also achieved his dream after years of hard work. “I had qualified one paper of the finals but was not able to clear the second for the last couple of years. I am glad I did it this time. My father is really happy,” he said.
