According to reports, Munni Devi, 38, who was born in a Muslim family, eloped with a Hindu man Jaiveer Singh more than a decade ago and married him.

The couple, who relocated to their village earlier this year, claimed that ever since they returned, Munni’s relatives were forcing them to convert.

“They threatened us several times and recently manhandled my husband. We fear for our lives,” said Munni.

Both Munni and her husband met senior superintendent of police, Badaun, Chandra Prakash with their complaint. The SSP told the Musajhag police to register a complaint and start investigation.

“We have registered a complaint against 11 people and have charged them with promoting enmity.
