‘Both parties must come forward for talks on out-of-court settlement of Ayodhya issue’
AYODHYA:
Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday advised people from both Hindu and Muslim communities to honour the advice of Supreme Court and come forward for a positive talk on ‘out of court settlement’ of the Ayodhya issue.
In the temple town to attend the 14th death anniversary event of Mahant Ram Chandra Paramhansa Das, the first president of Ram Janam Bhumi Nyas, Yogi said he was close to Ayodhya and visits to the spiritual place could continue in future too.
“Is it crime for me to visit Ayodhya as the CM,” he said on objections raised by various parties on his frequent visit here.
Addressing the gathering at Digambar Akhada, Yogi said his Guru Mahant Avaidyanath and Mahant Paramhansa Das were close friends, another reason that brought him to Ayodhya quite often when he was not the CM.
He also visited Digambar Akhada to attend a condolence meeting organised on the 14th death anniversary of Paramhans. He said Paramhansa was the key person of the Ram Mandir movement.
Addressing saints, he said his government was committed for the development of Ayodhya and Kashi, cities known worldwide as established centres of knowledge, traditions and culture.
He urged saints to work for the preservation of Indian culture and traditions and to spread the message of peace and non-violence from the land of Lord Rama.
He said soon after his visit, the work of the renovation of Saryu Ghats will begin.
He informed that his government was also working to re-establish the tradition of Ram Leela at Ayodhya.
