-

Barring the managing director, all other officials of the Kanpur Electricity Supply Company (KESCo) have completed the age of 50 years and can face compulsory retirement.

Sources said the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) has sought the performance report of employees who are 50 years and above.

It has also sought details of departmental action, if any, taken against any such officers in the past.

Director technical at KESCo Radhey Shyam Yadav said the UPPCL has sought information about the conduct and the performance of the employees who have completed fifty years of age.

A detail report about the employees would be submitted after thorough verification of each employee.

As per the KESCo records, 79 chief engineers, 302 executive engineers, 538 engineers and 35 civil engineers have completed the age of 50 years and they are all under government scanner for their efficiency and work performance.

In case, the officers failed to meet the parameters they might be asked to opt for compulsory retirement.

The parameters included their performance during the service period.

KESCo employees, meanwhile, are upset with the government and are busy in making approaches for the job security.
