CM flays Akhilesh’s quip on China’s might
LUCKNOW : Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday made a scathing attack on Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav for his controversial remark on Wednesday regarding China’s mighty military prowess vis a vis India’s.
Adityanath was speaking in the Vidhan Parishad on the concluding day of the budget session, ignoring absence of the opposition that boycotted proceedings when Adiyanath stepped into the house.
The chief minister took strong exception to Akhilesh’s statement terming it as ‘irresponsible and “undesirable”.
“I strongly object to and condemn the former chief minister’s sickening attempt to glorify an enemy country,” he said.
This, he said, reminded him of Saradar Patel’s statement wherein had said that the country’s independence and integrity had always been imperiled not by the enemies outside but by friends within. “This is a dangerous tendency and this has to end,” he said.
He said what the country needed at present was nationalism based on the principle of equality and not hollow socialism. Nationalism was an antidote to communalism and narrow mindedness, he added.
Referring to Akhilesh Yadav’s another remark that the BJP knew the art of persuading netaji (Mulayam Singh Yadav), the CM said, “If Akhilesh Yadav can question the acts of his father, his fortune creator, his criticism of my government’s work does not surprise and bother me at all.” The CM said the opposition had fled from the house as it feared getting exposed.
ON SHIKSHA MITRAS
Referring to the shiksha mitras’ violent agitation on Thursday, he urged them to shun violence and resume teaching work. He said the government would do justice to them. He cautioned them against being misled by the opposition parties.
ON BUDGET
The chef minister said his government’s first general budget was all-inclusive and development-oriented. He said his government had brought the biggest-ever budget without any new taxes.
