Easy for Navyug and Harichand paddlers in inter-school tourney
Navayug Radiance ‘A’ and Harichand Inter School won the boys and girls team championship, respectively at the 4th Namaste India Inter-School Table Tennis Tournament, notching up identical wins, at the UPTTA Complex here on Friday.
Navayug Radiance ‘A’ defeated Navayug Radiance ‘B’ by 2-0, whereas Harichand Inter School outplayed DPS, Eldeco also by 2-0. Saloni Bansal defeated Gungun Sahu 11-9, 11-5, 3-11, 11-6 in the first singles for Nayayug Radiance ‘A’, before Simran Nigam brushing aside Elina Mishra 11-4, 11-9, 8-11, 12-10 in the second singles to wrap up the issue.
For ex-cadet national champion Divyansh Srivastava, it was an easy encounter against Rohan 11-3, 11-4, 11-5 in the first singles in the boys section, whereas Adarsh Srivastava defeated Shikhar 11-6, 11-7, 11-6 in the second singles to finish off challenge in style.
FINE BOWLING
Kaushlendra and Janmay Jai shared all 10 wickets as K Sports Academy (KSA) defeated Divine Cricket Club (DCC) by 61 runs in a league match of the Under-16 cricket tournament, at the Christian College ground here on Friday.

FOOTBALL LEAGUE
A solitary first half goal by Narayan helped hosts Chowk Stadium beat RDSO by 1-0 in the District Football League-2017, at the Chowk Stadium here on Friday. Narayan struck in the 10th minute.
Sports College ‘B’ had to struggle a bit before outplaying Aliganj Sporting 2-1 in the second match of the day.
Ravi put Aliganj Sporting ahead in the 36th minute (1-0), whereas Divyanshu leveled the score in the 56th minute (1-all). However, Vivek Maurya scored the match winner in the 68th minute.
In the Dilkusha-leg of the league, BR Das Club beat DAV Club 2-0. None of the side broke the ice in the first half. But in the second half, Janak and Sonu scored a goal each to fashion team’s victory.
